Drug education is giving information in planned manner and using resources related to living in a world where drugs are commonly abused. It also provides opportunities for young people to reflect on their own and others’ attitudes towards drugs, drug abuse and drug addicts.
Drug Abuse Study in High School
The real goal of parents is to raise your child to live a successful and healthy life filled with love. Our parents are here to protect us from harm and other damages. However, protecting our children too much can have a very negative impact on their lives, especially with regard to drug abuse. Many parents are against drugs education because they want to believe that medicine is not an issue in the lives of their children. If we do not expose our children to the negative consequences of drug use then we are exposing them to high risk.
Good Drugs, Bad Drugs
The global health community must increase its commitment to protect patients from low-quality drugs.
World Health Organization (WHO) has contributed to problems with their drug prequalification program, “pre-qualify” some drugs are not always necessary for independent and verifiable evidence of laboratory quality. In 2005, 18 separate HIV / AIDS drugs were dropped as a result of the absence of such data from lab.
Resistance to first line HIV / AIDS medicines have forced patients in rich countries to buying more expensive second and third line treatment which are inaccessible to patients in poor countries.

Good generic medicines are a very important advantage: they tend to be cheaper, partly because they are likely to occur in countries with lower wages and infrastructure costs. This allows more drugs purchased and more patients should be treated. But if they are not subject to the same regulatory requirements or safety standards of the originator drug, the generic drugs threatens to undermine the health of the patient. Furthermore undermine patent long term prospects for new drug development by depriving innovators of revenue.
Illegal drugs in the U.S.
Abuse and addiction is a social problem in America for nearly a century. What may be surprising is that much of the drug was first introduced by the legal doctors prescription drugs.
Methamphetamine in America
The stimulant amphetamine was first made popular in the medical community in the 1920s, where it is used to stimulate the central nervous system, increases blood pressure, and expand the nasal passages. Amphetamines are distributed to soldiers during World War II to fight fatigue and improve endurance and mood, and prescribed by doctors after the war to combat depression.
Amphetamine abuse began in the 1930s when it became an over-the-counter inhalant medications marketed under the name BENZEDRINE. As more and more people were using amphetamine legally, this started an illegal black market to appear. Illegal amphetamines are often used by truck drivers who want to stay awake on long commutes and athletes who want to improve their performance. Students also began taking illegal amphetamines to help them study.
Cocaine in America
Cocaine is a popular medical drug in Europe for decades before it became popular in America. In 1886, the “glue” was introduced as the content of syrup from coca leaves. That same year, the Surgeon General in the U.S. Army approved the medical use of cocaine. Over the next few decades, various unregulated drug “tonics” sold in the U.S became popular. Hundreds of Hollywood silent films started depicting scenes of cocaine. By 1902 there were an estimated 200,000 cocaine users in the U.S.
Cocaine was finally banned in 1914 and declined in use for decades to achieve prominence in the 1970s as a hobby, glamorized drugs, eventually reaching a peak in 1982 with 10.4 million users. Several U.S. media revealed cocaine as non-addictive and saw that as a relatively harmless drug until the onset of crack in 1985.
Crack cocaine
Crack first appeared in 1985 in the cities of U.S. It is as solid as rock and is smoked in major cities.
LSD in America
LSD’s illegal use began in late 1950 and 1960 when research participants and mental health professionals started distributing the drug to their friends. LSD is only available through connections in the medical field until 1962, when a black market for LSD showed up in America. LSD became illegal in 1966 .
Heroin in America
1930 and 1940 was the time when opiate addiction began in America. During the Vietnam War heroin addiction became prevalent in U.S. soldiers who were stationed overseas, an estimated number of 10% to 15% of the servicemen were addicted to heroin during that time.
Thanks for all the good drug education information, would it be possible to include more information on the negative effects of pharmaceutical drugs?
Thanks

Drugs are a good and bad thing, marijuana for example if used in the rite way can be very enlightening. I think big pharma drugs are as evil as they come though. Stay away from them like the plague.
