| Description |
Active Ingredient:
Isotretinoin. Inactive Ingredients: beeswax, butylated
hydroxyanisole, edetate disodium, hydrogenated soybean oil flakes,
hydrogenated vegetable oil, and soybean oil. Gelatin capsules
contain glycerin and parabens (methyl and propyl), with the
following dye systems: 10 mg — iron oxide (red) and titanium
dioxide; 20 mg — FD&C Red No. 3,
FD&C Blue No. 1, and titanium dioxide; 40 mg — FD&C Yellow No. 6, D&C Yellow No. 10, and titanium dioxide. |

| Side Effects |
Side effects that may go away during
treatment include temporary worsening of acne; dry and peeling skin;
itching; rash; thinning of hair; fatigue; or dry mouth, nose, or
eyes. Bone, joint, or muscle pain or stiffness; abdominal pain;
yellowing of the skin or eyes; dark urine; rectal bleeding; severe diarrhea;
mood or personality changes; skin infections; persistent, severe
headaches; vomiting; depression; suicidal thoughts or tendencies; or
blood red vision.
Birth defects. Accutane can cause birth defects (deformed babies)
if taken by a pregnant woman. It can also cause
miscarriage. |
